HI, I AM
RUOLIN ZHANG
I am building my knowledge map in Human-Computer Interaction
About Me
My journey into the field of Human-Computer Interaction felt like a coincidence, yet perhaps it was destined.
Before even learning about this field, I was already conducting similar research. My master's thesis focused on desktop documentaries, exploring how desktop elements shape narratives and how these choices affect the audience's experience.
Earlier, I joined the VR department during my first undergraduate internship. My graduation thesis then focused on media studies, exploring the materiality of media from different researchers' perspectives. Paper, computers, mobile phones, VR headsets… I was fascinated by different forms of media.
As I gradually learned about HCI, I realized that everyone can find intersections with HCI in their major and daily life, and I didn't want to just "discover" it; I wanted to explore it further.
Today, artificial intelligence, extended reality, and robotics are constantly reshaping our daily lives. I'm learning technical skills, hoping to explore from a multifaceted perspective how people can better find their place in a technologically constructed world, how media can develop, and how to balance media development.
